Before evaluating this case we need to think of many coinciding factors. The first one is how many people are at a wedding. While a wedding is an extremely big day in your life, how much of your company resources are you willing to sacrifice for your sister? If your sister has more than 200 people at the wedding, you may not want to do this favour for your sister since it will use up a large part of the company’s resources. If it is a small wedding less than 100 people than maybe you could help your sister. Another factor to consider is how busy the printer/photocopier is. Are you the only person who uses this machine? How often do you use it? You should not be using the machine if it is a principle step in the business. For example, if you work at a newspaper company you should not print out the brochures as the printers are strictly for printing the newspapers. Another factor to consider is who is doing this job. Are you making your secretary do this job or are you doing it yourself? Something personal like this should be done by you, so you should not capitalize on workers who are below you for a personal favour. If you are doing this job yourself, it should also be after the work day so it does not ruin productivity during the day. The last factor to consider your title. If you are a very senior worker in the company who has put in a lot of hours into growing the business, that maybe you deserve this. If you are a first year employee, maybe you should find another way. If it was me, I would just ask my boss for if it is ok to use company resources for a personal need. After all, honesty is an important part of working in a business.
